CPS Workshop – Panel discussion and strategy development: Pathogenic threats to cannabis industry, sustainable diagnosis, and management

Date: October 10, 2023 – Online, 12:00-15:00 EST

Duration: 3 hours including Q&A session(s) and one break

Cannabis sativa L., or cannabis (including hemp and high-THC cannabis), is among the most economically valuable crops in the world due to its broad medical, industrial and recreational applications. Like all other important crops, several diseases and pests seriously threaten cannabis cultivation and its downstream industries. However, as a newly legalized and highly regulated crop, scientific research and knowledge on cannabis pathology is still very limited. In this workshop, we will highlight and discuss some of the recent advances and findings on important pathogens of cannabis plant, disease management strategies and pathogen diagnostic tools.
