2026 CPS Workshop

Statistical Analyses & Presentation of Data Generated from Field Experiments

Many field crop pathologists and researchers conduct field experiments to collect data for answering some research questions. To collect the best quality data, it is crucial to have an appropriate experimental design. Once the data is collected, particularly disease data (ordinal/qualitative data), the data should be analyzed using appropriate statistics and tests. This workshop will focus on all these aspects and provide a quick crash course on statistical analyses and experimental design.

Workshop Objectives/Topics

โ€ข Learning to design your experiment.
โ€ข Identifying appropriate statistical test for analyses and testing underlying assumptions.
โ€ข Statistical analyses from different experimental designs using R. Type-I, II, III ANOVA.
โ€ข Multiple means comparison.
โ€ข Interpretation and presentation of data.

At the end of the workshop, R tutorials will be shared with the participants.

Prerequisites & Participation
This workshop is designed for researchers with basic understanding of fundamental statistical theory & concepts. A basic understanding of the R environment is required.

Optional: To maximize the immediate impact on your research, participants may bring your own data to use during the hands-on sessions.
