DESCRIPTION:\nCanadian Phytopathological SocietyAnnual MeetingJune 14 to 18, 2026Lord Nelson, Halifax, NS, CANADA\n\n\n\nOn behalf of the organizers of the 2026 Canadian Phytopathological Society (CPS) Annual Meeting, we are pleased to invite you to the 97th Annual Meeting of the CPS to be held June 14–18, 2026, at the Lord Nelson Hotel, 1515 South Park Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada B3J 2L2. The CPS is dedicated to encouraging research, education, and the dissemination of knowledge on the nature, cause, and control of plant diseases. Society-sponsored, national and regional association meetings provide an opportunity for plant pathologists to meet, exchange ideas and discuss their common interests. The Annual Meeting brings together participants from industry, government and academic institutions to interact, share knowledge, educate and communicate on the nature, cause and control of plant diseases. The 2026 programme will feature a wide range of presentations, including contributions from leading researchers across North America.Our Annual Meeting typically attracts research, industry, and extension personnel from across Canada,USA and internationally with attendance ranging from about 100 to more than 140 participants for joint meetings. Presentations and posters at the meeting will span a wide range of crops from field crops like potatoes, wheat, barley, and canola through to horticultural and forest species. Topics will include both applied and fundamental research covering areas such as host-pathogen interactions, disease epidemiology, diagnostics, and innovative management strategies.The general meeting start in the evening of June 14 and ends on June 17. There are events on June 13 and June 18 for CPS board members.\n\n\n\n\nScientific Program\n\n\n\n\n\nAgenda\n\n\n\n\nField tour: An exciting full day bus tour has been arranged for Sunday June 14, 2026, from 9AM to 4PM to the South Shore. Some background information about the South Shore is provided below. The field tour requires separate registration. The deadlines were May 10 for oral-presentation consideration and May 20 for poster submissions. Authors selected for oral presentations were notified on May 15. A $35 fee per abstract applies for publication in the Canadian Journal of Plant Pathology. The format of abstracts must follow that for CJPP (http://phytopath.ca/journallinks.shtml). Underline the speaker’s name, indicate whether the presentation is oral or poster, and indicate if it is a student presentation.\n\n\n\n\nAbstract Submission – Closed ( https://phytopath.ca/cps_2026_abstracts/ )\n\n\n\n\nPosters:Poster Size: Posters should not exceed 44″ × 48″Poster Numbering: Please place your poster on the board that matches your assigned poster number in the program.Presentation Time: At least one author must be present at the poster during the designated session to discuss the work and answer questions.Mounting Time: Presenters should mount their posters before the start of the poster sessionPoster Location: Posters will be displayed in the Regency Room, alongside the vendor tables.
